A pair of exceptional 19th century trinket, card or pin dishes. These exquisite brass trays feature a cupid with his quiver full of arrows whispering to a stork on its nest. The scene appears on a scroll where the edges have curled, and an arrow pierces the top right corner.
The dishes are matching but are slightly different and are made from brass. They each have four small feet for stability and are very heavy for their size. They measure approx. 12 x 9 x 1.5cm. One weighs 377 grams whilst the other weighs 415 grams. These originate from either France or Italy according to the makers marks on the bottom of each piece which read DEP 5500.
These trays would make an excellent gift for a newlywed couple or to celebrate the birth of a new baby.Absolutely gorgeous.
