Small Buddha with a Hidden Secret

An unusual Buddha figure with a hidden scene underneath.

The small figure, made from a type of composite or resin is coloured black or a very dark brown. 

When the figure is turned upside down a carved scene of an erotic embrace between a male and a female is seen. The couple look very happy!

There is a maker’s mark on the base and the piece shows much detail particularly in the fabrics. The figure measures approx. 11cm wide by 7cm tall.

It is in good vintage condition with just a tiny mark here and there and feint scratches to the top of the head.

A very unusual piece.
