A stunning silver plated and pressed glass claret wine decanter with an unusual dragon handle.
This wine decanter or pitcher dates from around the 1960’s/70’s and originates from Italy. The bottom of the decanter reads:
Distillerie Buton, Bologna – Italia. Casa Fondata Nel 1820.
Argenterie Comm. G. Galbiati – Milano
The piece is approx. 28cm tall and has slight wear on the silver plating although on the whole it is in great condition. I haven’t polished it, but I’m sure it would shine up beautifully. It is complete with its original stopper top and a new cork.
The silver plate is very ornate with beautiful floral and swirl details around the bottom and the neck of the jug and the piece is finished off dramatically with that wonderful dragon acting as the handle.
A stunning piece for a drinks cabinet or a dinner table.
