Postal Scales from Mid 20th century

A set of postal scales from the mid-20^th century in brass with a mahogany base.

This charming set of scales are of traditional form with a mahogany base of a curved design and brass scales and weights. The base has recesses for the weights and sits on four rubber feet. The weights are as follows: 1 x 50g, 2 x 20g, 1 x 10g and 1 x 5g.

The scales have been used and there are signs of wear to the base and the scales themselves. Both elements have a charming vintage patina.

The scales work as they should and are perfectly usable. The weights provided enable weighing from 5g up to 105g in 5g additions.

The scales are marked ‘Made in England’ and ‘Warranted Accuracy’ but do not have a maker’s mark.
