Italian Old Style World Globe

A superb old world style desk globe made in Italy.

Made from brass and wood with paper details, this small desk globe has a wonderful antique feel. I believe it dates to the 1950’s.

All the writing is in Italian. The stand, which is separate to the globe, has the astrological signs around the edge and four feet. The globe itself has a frame with brass north and south fixtures and has measurements around the edge. The globe has lovely old world design with diagrams of ships and sea monsters.

The globe lifts out of the stand for closer inspection. A paper note marked ‘Made in Italy’ is stuck to the base.

The piece stands approx. 22cm tall and approx. 20cm wide. The globe measures approx. 11cm in diameter.

It is in good condition with a few chips off the wood and a couple of nicks to the globe which gives it a nice vintage look.
