A wonderful late 19th early 20th century salt glazed apothecary jar with original lid. The original label is still attached but partly worn and confirms the contents as: Ung. Sulphur, B* (seventh addendum) Synonym Sulphide Ointment. Part of the original chemist’s name is showing as James ***y and Sons & Co. Ltd. There is a trademark symbol on the label showing three arrows pointing up through a ribbon.
The jar is in very good condition, but the lid has a few chips around the top of the rim. It measures approx. 15.5cm high and 12cms in diameter including the lid.
An excellent addition to a medical collection or an unusual storage jar for kitchen or bathroom. This is a heavy item so please take this into account for the price of postage.
