Fractured French Party Serviettes from 1950
- Full set of 24 napkins/serviettes
- Manufactured in USA in 1950
- Amusing French translations
These amusing party serviettes date from 1950 and were manufactured in the USA. They feature 24 different alternative French translations by Fred Pearson II, who also wrote the book ‘Fractured French’ in the same year, and illustrations by Richard Taylor.
This napkin set is complete with all 24 napkins, each with a different hilarious ‘take’ on the French language complete with a picture to enable you to get a full (mis)understanding.
The pictures are certainly not politically correct by today’s standards but give an excellent view of comedy at the time.
The serviettes themselves have discoloured and the box is slightly damaged on the edges, but this is to be expected considering it has been around almost 70 years. The box measures 18cm x 18cm x 3cm.
A fabulous little box of comedy history.
