- Vintage toy from c.1950’s
- The story of Cinderella
- Gorgeous fairy tale pictures
A wonderful set of twelve picture blocks from around the 1950’s featuring the story of Cinderella written by Charles Perrault in 1697, this appears to be an original depiction rather than the Disney adaptation.
Each block has a piece of one of six pictures on each side and there are six pictures to make. We see Cinderella working, then feeding doves, then Cinderella’s two pretty (but probably ugly on the inside!) sisters, Cinderella at the ball with the Prince, the Prince fitting the glass slipper and then being helped to dress for her wedding by the doves. Just beautiful!
The paper pictures cover the wooden blocks and there are identical pictures (one stuck to the top of the box, one stuck inside the lid and four loose) to follow to help complete the puzzle.
The set is in excellent condition for its age with just a bit of wear to the edges of the blocks, the box is in good condition too with minimal wear also the edges. There are no makers marks or writing of any kind. The box measures approx. 17 x 13 x 4cm and each block measures approx. 3.8cm but, being handmade, each one differs slightly.
A lovely gift or to display on a shelf.
