A bronze Hindu water offering spoon c. 1860.
This spoon was used in Hindu rituals known as puja. Puja or pooja is a worship ritual performed in the Hindu religion to offer devotional homage and prayer to one or more deities, to host and honour a guest, or to spiritually celebrate an event. It may honour or celebrate the presence of special guest, or their memories after they die.
This spoon was used to give water a offering and dates from around 1860.
The unusual spoon measures just over 14cm and is made from bronze. It is extremely old and shows signs of wear and use and is no longer straight which adds to the charm of this old piece.
