Beautiful Italian Micro Mosaic Brooch from 1950's
Brooches are making a comeback. It’s a lovely way to bring new life to an old jacket, jumper or top. If you’re looking for a brooch why not choose something unique?
This gorgeous brooch is a work of art! The design is called micromosaic, a craft which started in Italy in the Renaissance period, where tiny pieces of glass, called tesserae, are mounted together to form a picture. This piece comes from Italy and was made c1950.
The mosaic shows a pretty little posy with a large rose in the centre in bright colours of green, red, white and blue. The setting is a flower shape and made from gilt brass with a safety pin catch. It measures approx. 3cm in diameter and is in perfect vintage condition.
A beautiful gift for Mother’s Day.
