Art Deco Deer Antler Hat or Coat Hook

An unusual single antler on an oak mount.

This wall display or coat hook dates from around the 1920’s/30’s and features a single roe deer antler.

Usually contemporary antler wall plaques have two antlers attached to part of the skull but this one being antique appears to have been specifically designed to be a coat or hat hook.

The fixings on the back seem strong enough to support it as a hook. The antler hook is in excellent condition and is beautifully aged, the age being noticed from the tarnishing to the fixings on the back.

The antler itself has a smooth end so will not damage anything that may be hung from it.

The shield measures approx. 22.5cm x 7cm.
